Assoc. Dr. Barış Görgün

Born in Adana in 1985, Barış Görgün completed his primary and secondary school years in Adana and continued his education at Istanbul Beşiktaş Atatürk Anatolian High School. Barış Görgün, who started attending Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine after graduating from high school in 2003, received general surgery training for a month at Universitat Giessen in Giessen, Germany, during his medical school student period. After graduating from medical school with honors in 2009, he completed his compulsory service at Istanbul Kuzguncuk Ethem Arutan Health Center. As a result of the Medical Specialization Exam he took during his compulsory service, he started his orthopedics specialization at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2011. After 5 years of specialization training, he completed his specialization thesis on "Evaluation of Muscle Spasticity with Elastography Method in Children with Hemiparesic Cerebral Palsy and Determination of the Treatment Algorithm" in 2016 with Prof. Dr. He completed his thesis under the supervision of Muharrem İNAN and received the title of Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialist. Barış Görgün, who is fluent in English and beginner-level German, received hand surgery and microsurgery training at Rhön Klinikum, Clinic für Handchirurgie in Bad Neustadt, Germany, for two months after his specialization training. In 2016, he successfully passed the Orthopedics Proficiency Exam held by the Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Education and Research Council (TOTEK). He completed his compulsory service in Patnos district of Ağrı between 2017-2018. Barış Görgün, who currently serves as the team doctor of the Turkey U17 Men's National Basketball Team, joined the Ortopediatric family in March 2018.
